Sveaskog raises timber prices across Sweden for the third time in 2024
[Sep 5, 2024]

On September 1, Sveaskog raised prices for timber and pulpwood across much of Sweden. The price of timber increased by 60 to 95 SEK per cubic meter solid volume under bark (m3fub), while all pulpwood saw a price hike of 60 SEK per m3fub. This marks the third price increase by Sveaskog this year, following previous hikes in January and May.

¡°The demand for green raw materials in the industry remains strong, contributing to significant price development for forest products. Sveaskog has adjusted its price lists to better reflect the value of Swedish forests across the country. This price increase also creates better conditions for profitable forestry for private forest owners in cooperation with us,¡± said Jens Stenberg, purchasing manager at Sveaskog.

Sveaskog's customers are spread across Sweden, with raw materials processed close to their extraction sites, minimizing transport distances. Sveaskog, the largest forest owner in Sweden, is owned by the Swedish state.
