German Softwood lumber exports decline
From January to July, Germany exported 5.5 million m3 of softwood lumber. This corresponds to a decrease of 370,000 m3 compared to the five-year average. The sharpest decrease was recorded in the US, Germany’s main foreign market. Exports to Austria stable, decreases on remaining foreign markets

German Beech lumber exports increase by 13%
From January to July, Germany exported 243,000 m3 of beech lumber, recording a 13% increase compared to the same period of last year, when exports had totaled 215,000 m3

German chipboard exports up by 7%
In the first seven months, German exports of chipboards and OSB amounted to 1.42 million m3, which corresponds to a year-on-year increase of 7% (January – July 2023: 1.33 million m3).
