The purchase aims to bolster Hartville's construction materials business.

Ohio-based Hartville Hardware & Lumber has acquired nearby Coshocton Lumber Company. According the Hartville, the purchase is a move toward enhancing the company's position in the construction materials market.

Coshocton Lumber, according to Hartville, has built a strong reputation for carrying high-quality building materials and providing trusted hardware home center brands to contractors, builders and homeowners in Coshocton and its surrounding communities.

“We are excited to welcome Coshocton Lumber to the Hartville Hardware family,” said Scott Sommers, president of Hartville Hardware. "This purchase allows us to take our purpose of serving and providing for others and expand it into the Coshocton community. Under the terms of the agreement, Coshocton Lumber, a Do it Best member store, will continue to operate under its current name and maintain its existing staff. Hartville Hardware plans to invest in expanding Coshocton Lumber’s product offerings while continuing its tradition of personalized customer service.
