USA: Record imports increase
U.S. imports of plywood, particleboard and fiberboard
(including OSB and other wood-based panels) grew by 8% in the
first three months of 2025 compared to the same period last
year. As with other wood products, Canada is the most important
source of imports.
USA: Hardwood lumber exports decline
Exports of hardwood lumber from the USA fell by 6% in the first
three months of 2025 compared to the same period of the previous
year. Main customers China and Canada in particular purchased
significantly less than in the first quarter of 2024.
USA: Softwood imports decline - Germany remains second-most
important supplier
US imports of coniferous wood will continue to decline in the
first three months of 2025. Nevertheless, Germany remains by far
the most important European supplier with slightly increasing
trade volumes. Compared to the first three months of 2024.
