Fundaci髇 Chemonics Colombia - Programa Colombia Forestal

The Fundacion Chemonics Colombia, implements the Colombia Forestry Development Program (CFDP). The CFDP is financed by the United States Agency for International Development, USAID, under its Strategic Objective SO2, which is: Promote economic and social alternatives to the cultivation of illicit crops.

The purpose of the CFDP is to raise the commercial forestry sector in Colombia to a new level of competitiveness that takes advantage of its potential to accelerate rural development in Colombia, and leads it to a sustainable path by linking it with national and international markets of rapid growth. The objectives of the CFDP are: to increase the income and employment opportunities for rural communities, improving their technical capacity, increasing their options for sustainable development and increasing the competitiveness of the forestry industry.
